The Mackay Chamber Music Festival’s final concert is a vibrant celebration of music, community, and collaboration. Topping the program is Dvořák’s beloved Piano Quintet in A Major, a masterpiece brimming with lyrical warmth, folk-inspired melodies, and fiery energy—one of the great gems of the chamber music repertoire.

The evening culminates in possibly the most exciting performance of the MCMF’s history - an exhilarating collaboration between The Boxties, MCMF Festival Artists, and a stellar crew of local school-aged musicians. After working closely with The Boxties in a series of workshops over the course of a week, watch this amazing cohort of local string and choral students shine in a side-by-side performance, presenting a dynamic, folk-infused community collaboration. Blending classical precision with the raw, heartfelt spirit of folk traditions, this performance promises to be a joyous and immersive musical experience.

Join us for an unforgettable finale, where artistry and community unite in a celebration of creativity, connection, and the power of shared music-making.
