Sunday 19 July, 3:00pm
Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music
Boundary Road, Ooralea

Composers have long been inspired by nature’s beauty – the landscape, sounds of storms, birdcalls, and flowing rivers, have all been incorporated into famous pieces of music. In this final concert of the festival, you’ll hear the bubbling streams of Austria in Schubert’s gorgeous “Trout” quintet, and the Australian premiere of a piece depicting the Australian landscape by Australian composer Andrew Howes. Violinist Ike See will send you into the freezing North Queensland air with Vivaldi’s “Winter”, from the famous “Four Seasons”.

SCHUBERT - Piano Quintet in A major, D.667 "Trout" (Ike See, Nathan Greentree, Edward King, Jaan Pallandi & Angela Turner)
SCULTHORPE - Djillie, for cello and piano (Simon Cobcroft, & Stewart Kelly)

ANDREW HOWES - Scenes from Australian Landscape, for string sextet (Glenn Christensen, Doretta Balkizas, Nathan Greentree, Elizabeth Woolnough, Simon Cobcroft, & Edward King)
